Tens of thousands of cars crash into water each year. This can be due to weather conditions, missing or broken guardrails alongside the water or car accidents. In 99 percent of these cases, the front end of the car is the first to go under water. This makes the back seat and trunk the last places where the passengers can take a breath and have a possible escape route.

With a traditional safety hammer, most occupants (especially children) are unable to escape. To break a car window with a safety hammer underwater requires a lot of force, due to the resistance offered by the water. In addition, the window will break only if enough force is applied to the right spot. Children or more vulnerable occupants are dependent on an adult passenger or the driver to escape from the car.

The Maxxsafe® is designed to give all occupants (especially children) a chance to escape, even from a sinking car. The Maxxsafe® is placed on the rear window, so it will always be in the right place when the car is submerged in water.

When the Maxxsafe® comes into contact with water, a red LED light will flash. This makes the Maxxsafe® always easy to find, even when it is completely dark.

To break the window, the Maxxsafe® only needs to be turned. This will cause a pin to shoot against the window, after which the window will be shattered.
